Freight Dispatcher Cold Calling Scripts That Actually Work

The Opening Script (15 Seconds)

// Opening - Get permission to continue

"Hey [NAME], this is [YOUR NAME] with [COMPANY]. I work with owner operators in [THEIR AREA] helping them stay loaded at top rates. Got 30 seconds?"

If yes, continue. If no, ask: "When's a better time to call back?"

The Pitch Script (45 Seconds)

// Value proposition - specific numbers

"I noticed you're running [EQUIPMENT TYPE] out of [LOCATION]. My drivers in that area are averaging $2.85-3.20 per mile on outbound loads.


What I do is handle all your load booking, broker negotiations, and paperwork - so you focus on driving. I charge [X]% and only get paid when you get paid.

Common Objections & Responses

"I already have a dispatcher"

"Good to hear you value dispatch services. What do you like most about them? [Listen] And if you could change one thing? [Listen] I'd love to be your backup option - can I send you my info for when you need it?"

"Your percentage is too high"

"I hear you. Let me ask - if I can get you $500 more per week, would [X]% of that be worth it? My drivers typically see rate increases that more than cover my fee. Can we do a one-week trial so you can see the numbers yourself?"

"I find my own loads"

"That's great - you know the business. How many hours a week do you spend searching and negotiating? What if you could use that time driving instead? I have drivers who gained 400-500 extra miles per week just by handing off the load search."

"I got burned by a dispatcher before"

"I'm sorry to hear that - unfortunately there are some bad actors in this industry. What happened? [Listen] I operate differently - [address their specific concern]. I'm happy to start with a one-load trial so you can see how I work before any commitment."
